Sodexo
Sodexo are delighted to be working with University Hospital and Stoke on Trent Primary Care Trust at the Haywood to provide a range of services across the sites. As we progress into 2009 and the completion of the new Maternity and Cancer Centres, the running of services including cleaning, portering, the helpdesk and waste management will all be handed over to Sodexo, under the terms of the PFI contract.
Staff and visitor catering
In August 2008 Sodexo began providing both staff and visitor catering from the new temporary dining facility located in front of A block on the City General site. The temporary restaurant is themed under Sodexo’s YOO brand name and includes Costa Coffee as well as a range of other hot and cold meals and snacks.
Estates
In August 2008 the Trust’s Estates staff began transferring to Sodexo, who are now responsible for maintenance services associated with the new buildings i.e. CSSD, DTC Catering and the temporary staff restaurant.
Patient Catering Services
The provision of patient meals transferred to Sodexo in August 2008, and food is now prepared from a new purpose built Catering Department on the City General site (near to the Hilton Road entrance). The majority of food is supplied by one of Sodexo’s key suppliers’ Tillery Valley Foods. Tillery Valley Foods provide expertise in food technology, to help clients in healthcare cook prepared chilled and frozen meals, giving their patients/customers healthy, nutritionally balanced dishes produced to a consistently high standard.
