Emergency Care Centre

(Accident and Emergency)

Our emergency department is one of the busiest in the country.   We see more than 100,000 patients each year and treat both adults and children.  Our team treat a whole range of conditions which include urgent care cases, emergency medical, trauma and minor injuries.

The current Department of Health target specifies that 98% of patients coming into emergency departments should be seen, treated, admitted or discharged within four hours.  We are committed to achieving this target for our patients.

The majority of patients needing emergency treatment come to our emergency department which is based at the Royal Infirmary site on Princes Road, in Penkhull, Stoke on Trent.
