Macmillan Cancer Support and Information Centre (formerly The Lymes)
At the Macmillan Cancer Support and Information Centre we offer a safe and relaxed environment where you can talk to friendly and professional staff in complete confidence. You can discuss any worries or questions that you might have about any aspect of your diagnosis or treatment, or you may want to talk about difficult issues that you can't talk to your friends and family about for fear of upsetting them.
You don't need an appointment to visit us (except for the benefits service and Tuesday afternoon Dove counselling service) and you can use the Centre as many times as you want, calling in or telephoning at a time to suit yourself.
Although we don't give advice on medical treatment plans we can help you to understand your type of cancer and the treatment choices that you have been given. We have time to go through your treatment options with you and will help you find further information in order to help you make informed decisions.
You are welcome to visit us if you have just been diagnosed, are awaiting a diagnosis, or if you have been living with cancer for many years. We can also offer advice on how to prevent cancer or how to recognise the symptoms of early cancer.
Why not call in for a chat and a coffee to see what we offer?
You will find a warm welcome.
