Cancer Types

Use this A-Z to find more information about particular cancers.

For each cancer type you will see information about the services offered at University Hospital, the clinical staff you may meet during your diagnosis and treatment, contact details, links to information sites and links to support groups.

Every newly-diagnosed case is discussed by a multidisciplinary team made up of all staff involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with that cancer type, so there are many more people contributing to your diagnosis and treatment than are shown in the list. If you would like to know more about their work and their role in the multidisciplinary team, please ask your nurse specialist or drop in to the Macmillan Cancer Support and Information Centre.

There are a number of Cancer support and information sites on the internet. The links in the A-Z take you to Cancer Backup which offers excellent and easy to use information. Some extra information links are included in some cancer types.

The support groups listed are both national and local to the University Hospital area.
