Ward 12b

Ward 12b cares for children who have been injured in an accident. It is a nine bedded children's ward.  Children are admitted directly from the emergency care centre or from the fracture clinic.

They are placed under the care of a consultant who will try to see them on a daily basis. Registrars and senior house officers assist the consultants in general duties and in carrying out daily ward rounds.

Registered children's nurses also provide care,  together with clinical support workers, play specialists and student nurses.  Our staff work very hard to create a friendly environment.  During term time a teacher visits children who are admitted for five days or more.
