Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery

University Hospital is one of only a small number of hospitals in the region to offer a specialist upper gastrointestinal cancer service for both local patients and those who attend surrounding hospitals, including Stafford and Leighton. 

Our consultants offer surgery for patients suffering from stomach, oesophageal and upper intestinal cancers. We also offer benign upper gastrointestinal surgery, including laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery, oesophageal and gastric surgery and biliary surgery (e.g. laparoscopic removal of gall bladder and bile duct exploration procedures).
