Vascular Surgery

The vascular surgery service at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire specialises in the treatment of complex vascular problems such as abdominal aortic    aneurysm repair, lower limb revascularisation and carotid surgery, and routine vascular surgery such as treatment for varicose veins.  

The Trust has recently appointment of a sixth consultant vascular surgeon. The department is expanding and developing its services to follow NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) guidance for endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (using a stent instead of open surgery) and also in the treatment of patients who require vascular access surgery.
